Taking care of Alpaca clothing and apparel is important and the same is true with any natural animal fiber.
Alpaca should be washed on cold, cold in the washing machine and then dried on low or no heat in the dryer, or laid in its natural shape to dry. The reason this is important is, Alpaca or Wool contain scales on the hair its self and when dried on high heat they will interlock and bind together shrinking the fabric or clothing and will be difficult to get to return to its natural shape.
We did make Hollow Fleece socks and hats with that in mind, but should be avoided drying Alpaca and other natural clothing on high heat.
